How each solution supports barbershops

See what each option adds to the way your business takes and tracks payments.

Square Appointments

For barbershops: Schedule haircuts, color services and barber appointments, collect appointment payments and keep staff calendars aligned. Square Appointments puts online booking, reminders and payments in one calendar. Assign chairs and barbers in the calendar, list the shop on Square Go, and require a card on file for Saturday slots. Roots Payments, an independent Square Reseller, configures your services, staff, policies and booking site so it works from the first appointment.
  • Build your service menu with durations, processing time, prices and staff assignments
  • Configure deposit, cancellation and no-show policies that match how you actually operate
  • Connect booking to your website, Instagram and Google Business Profile

Square Hardware Setup

For barbershops: Choose and configure Square checkout equipment for haircuts, styling, beauty products and gratuities, including counter, mobile and staff workflows. Square hardware ranges from Tap to Pay on a phone to Square Terminal and Square Register, which ships with Square Appointments pre-installed. Tap to Pay on each barber's phone keeps checkout at the chair; a Square Terminal handles walk-ins at the front. Roots recommends what each station needs and configures it; you buy hardware directly from Square.
  • Recommend a device for each chair, room or front desk
  • Configure devices, printers and modes
  • Roots doesn't sell hardware; we link you to Square to buy it
