Square describes Square for Retail as a POS to "sell more and stay stocked with a POS designed for retail." Roots Payments, an independent Square Reseller, builds the catalog, configures the plan and hardware, and supports your team after launch.

Game stores carry board games, miniatures and accessories, and small counting errors turn into lost sales or dead stock. Roots Payments builds the item structure and counting routine so the numbers stay right.
  • Design variants and SKUs so reports roll up correctly
  • Set up vendors, reorder points and purchase orders

Square Online (websites)

For board game & tabletop stores: Give customers an online storefront for toys, hobby supplies and collectible orders, with ordering and fulfillment choices suited to your business. Square Online gives game stores a website with pickup, shipping and local delivery, and Square says in-store sales, online orders and inventory connect automatically. That keeps board games, miniatures and accessories from overselling across channels. Roots Payments builds the store, product pages and shipping rules.
  • Build product pages with photos, variants and descriptions
  • Set shipping zones, pickup windows and local delivery radius
  • Connect your domain and basic on-page SEO

Cash Discount Program

For board game & tabletop stores: Design a clearly presented cash-price program for toys, hobby supplies and collectible orders, with checkout wording and receipts aligned. • Check your state's rules first
  • Set up pricing, signage and receipts
  • Train staff to explain it

Credit Card Surcharging

For board game & tabletop stores: Plan credit-card surcharge disclosures for toys, hobby supplies and collectible orders, keeping eligible card payments distinct at checkout. Surcharging adds a fee to credit card payments to offset processing costs. It's banned on debit cards, capped by card-brand rules and restricted in some states. It can offset fees on large tickets, but some customers dislike it, so we compare it with a cash discount first. Roots Payments sets it up to the rules or tells you when it's not a fit.
  • Check your state's surcharge rules
  • Register the program with the card brands where required
  • Set up signage and receipt disclosures
